David Kincaid who is the Convener did all the hard work arranging the hotel lunch which was first class and we thank him. He tells us;

Report on Stratford Planters Lunch – 15 August,

A total of 42 guests were welcomed to the lunch at the Arden Hotel, Stratford with numbers being slightly down due to illness.  Those who were unable to attend were wished a speedy recovery.

Denys Shortt was congratulated on being awarded the OBE and he and Debbie recently visited the Palace for the award ceremony.  Since Denys Wild, OBE was also attending the lunch the gathering were privileged to be able to support two awards.

Tribute was paid to Dacre Mogg who, sadly, died last year.  Both he and Janet worked so hard in organising the annual event in Eastbourne and he is sadly missed by everyone.  We were very pleased to welcome Janet to Stratford.

We were also able to welcome the master of the Koi Hai website in the not inconspicuous figure of David Air.  David set up the site in 1999 and has tirelessly kept it up to date ever since.  This has involved a tremendous amount of work and he was congratulated on his determination to keep it going.

The Arden Hotel provided an excellent lunch and the day was rounded off with a visit to the theatre for a first class performance of Hamlet.
